Ruminations about life and the world

Handful of things = happiness

I’ve been away from my apartment for about a few months now (ever since the shelter in place started). I’ve stayed at my fiance’s parent’s place and now back at my parent’s place for a little bit.

I have a handful of clothes, a laptop, a few books, a pull-up bar, phone, toiletry bag, and my VR headset. I feel really happy and blessed to be able to spend the time I have with my close family members with the little things that I have. I feel fortunate to be in good health and grateful for the opportunities that I have.

It’s times like this that I realize that material goods have very little to do with my internal happiness. I’m just as happy or even more so than I was before.
